K2, spice, synthetic marijuana. Chances are that you have heard about these new designer drugs on the news. They are touted as being a natural and safe alternative to marijuana. The draw for spice and synthetic marijuana is that they are natural and are undetectable in a standard urine drug test. The truth about spice is that it is dangerous and has now been attributed to several deaths across the country.

Spice is a term for synthetic marijuana. Spice is not safer than marijuana, and keep in mind that marijuana is a drug and not safe for your recovery. Synthetic marijuana is made from chemicals that are sprayed on a potpourri like substance. Synthetic marijuana is smoked and quickly reaches the brain.

Although synthetic cannabis can more than 100 times more potent than marijuana, the substance is deadly. Authorities have banned the chemicals found in synthetic marijuana. The makers of spice continue to alter the chemicals, bypassing legalities. In fact, on spice packages, there is a clear warning sign that the substance is not for human consumption.

Synthetic marijuana is dangerous and addicting. Dangerous side effects of spice use are:
  • Extreme anxiety and panic
  • Confusion
  • Hallucinations
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Vomiting
  • Seizures
  • Kidney damage
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Bizarre and dangerous behavior

In recent months, there have been several deaths in Illinois related to spice use. In Illinois, there have been over 50 cases of profuse bleeding associated with spice use. Over the past few months, there have been several deaths linked to spice use in Illinois. Authorities have concerned that fatalities can spread nationwide.

Just because a product is advertised as a safe alternative does not mean this is true. The manufacturers of this product do not care about safety or life. They are concerned about profit. Similar to illicit drug sellers.

If you are addicted to spice, you can seek treatment. Spice is addicting and withdrawal symptoms include:
