Now that marijuana has become legalized in 30 of the United States, there has been an increase in marketing cannabis in new ways. Marijuana which was once simply thought of as a plant that was smoked to get high, has had more products legally come onto the market to make the cannabis industry even more profitable.

Newer cannabis products are being marketed more frequently for medicinal and recreational purposes that could include tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD), or both cannabinoids together to relieve symptoms of ailments which have become problematic. The entire plant can be used to treat symptoms of anxiety, cancer, arthritis, diabetes, fibromyalgia, and seizures although there are still those who become addicted to it to get high from the THC. Cannabis products of all types have become more frequently accessible including dabs, e-juice, oils, and now in the form of a cannabis infused drink.

One of the newest products that is on the market is cannabis extract infused beer which is probably not the healthiest drink for someone with health problems. Although alcohol can increase the absorption rate of the THC, crossfading has shown to do more harm than good with someone who is solely drinking to get high from the psychoactive effects of THC. “Wellness drinks”, which are nonalcoholic, are on the horizon and will be made with CBD extract that are not intended to get a person high. These drinks are meant to infuse CBD extract into them to help someone to sleep, reduce their stress, boost their appetite, and regulate their mood without feeling a psychoactive effect.

Canada legalized marijuana in October and has been in cahoots with a few of the beer manufacturers to come up with a line of non-alcoholic drinks that will include CBD extracts as one of the main ingredients. One of the most prominent Canadian marijuana producers, Aurora Cannabis, has been in talks with Coca-Cola to monitor the wellness drink industry to see if they can come up with a drink that will help to ease ailments and physical pain that CBD can relieve. The point of these drinks is to use the properties of cannabis that are beneficial to people who experience this pain but are not interested in getting high.

As the marijuana continues to evolve so do the products that are being considered as an alternative to just getting high. This growing industry is still fairly new to many people who did not smoke weed back in the day and yet are scared from lack of knowledge of what CBD extract really is. The cannabis industry intends to bring awareness to CBD while they keep racking in the profits.
